On the IceGate portal, an email service is available named as IceGate Webmail For all kinds of communications it is a must for the employees to use the service The nature of communication may vary whether it is to citizens, inter-department or intra department
Using the email and password employees have to login to the portal webmail.icegate.gov.in in order to access the generic email account
Using two different internet browsers it is possible to use IceGate generic web mail and the individual’s personal email
Multiple officers can access the emails as the government has proposed to use email client lotus notes
Only 1 GB of email is served to every employee The respective department is to be contacted if you have reached the limit and wish to increase the server and get it activated

Using Browser for desktop
- Visit the IceGate email login page at webmail.icegate.gov.in
- Fill in your username and password here To get logged in to your account tap the login button
Use IBM Verse App for Mobile
From the IBM based server, you can also use IBM verse as the email client tool and access IceGate webmail using a mobile phone
- Visit Google play store to install IOS App
Check out the IBM Verse app on the web-store Install and open the app
- Tap the My Company Server Option
Under I want to Connect too “ My Company Server” option is given click it Now enter your server URL mobile.cbec.gov.in and tap the next button to proceed
- Fill in the user ID and password to log in
Provide your company user ID and password and click login
- Choose Application under IBM Verse
Choose application as “Mail and Calendar” under the IBM Verse app
- To conclude the account setup click next
You can now complete your account setup using the Next button
Forgot password Reset ICEGate Mail
You will face the issue in case you forgot the password and will be unable to use ICEGate mail Here are the steps to reset your account password
- Visit the ICEGate webmail login page
- Click forgot password option given
- Click the lock icon given on forgot password page Now a pop up for password reset opens
- Click the option “Password Reset for Generic Webmail Account” and fill in your webmail
- Fill in the owner SSO ID, RSA Pin and click to request OTP
- Fill in the OTP received on the next page To reset the account password click the submit button
How to access IceGate Webmail on mobile?
Yes, the IceGate webmail is accessible on mobile If the phone supports Lotus notes client you can use it to log in or directly access using the browser
