The Telangana state police has introduced its e-Challan system to maintain an online record of Challans issued by the traffic police. The defaulters can also check the status of their challan online using this.

The website has been provided with various options to assist in checking the details. This can be done by entering the license number or the vehicle number on the official website. The citizens can also check their license penalty points.

Checking e-Challan for Telangana

  2. Click on Vehicle Number or License Number in the Home menu
  3. Enter the respective number and the security code
  4. Click the GO button to search for challan issued against the given number

Paying TS e-Challan Online

If you have been issued with a TS e-Challan then you can pay for it in online mode by following the given steps:

  1. Visit the Telangana state police e-Challan web portal (echallan.gov.in/publicview)
  2. Click on Vehicle Number or License Number in the Home menu
  3. Enter the respective number and the security code
  4. Select e-Challan from the given list and click on the Pay button
  5. Select the preferred mode of online payment and click on the Pay button
  6. Once the payment is made an acknowledgement receipt will be sent to the registered mobile number as proof of successful payment

Checking DL Penalty Points

The Telangana state police have introduced a penalty points system to track defaulters regularly involved in violation of traffic rules. Higher penalty points will lead to different type of punishment from the traffic police which might include prison term in case of severe violations along with heavy payment penalties.

  1. Go to the echallan.tspolice.gov.in
  2. Select the DL penalty points option and enter the License Number
  3. Enter the Date of Birth and submit the security question to proceed
  4. The list of points generated against the DL will be displayed
  5. Depending upon the points accumulated by the defaulter respective penalty or punishment will be applied to those involved in regular violation of traffic rules

How to raise complaint over a Fake Number plate?

The Telangana State Police has provided the citizens with an easy option to report any fake number plates. The following process may be followed to report such cases:

  2. Click on Complaints-> Fake Number Plate
  3. Provide the required details and click on the Submit button
  4. The police will now look into the matter and track the fake number plate

How to register on TS e-Challan to get violation alerts?

If you are not getting any message alerts when a challan is issued then you will need to register on the official website. This can be done by following the given process:

  1. Visit the e-Challan portal of Telangana State Police (echallan.tspolice.gov.in)

  3. Enter the preferred mobile number to receive alerts and click on the Submit button
  4. The mobile number will be updated on the website and if any e-Challan is issued against the provided License/Vehicle number SMS alerts will be sent to the registered mobile number

Will my license be cancelled if DL penalty points increase?

Yes, if you regularly violate traffic rules then this will reciprocate on the official website. In case the penalty points increase a certain value then the license will be cancelled for a few years as a warning. If the same continues then the license will be cancelled permanently.

Why is e-Challan issued against a license number?

In some cases the e-Challan is issued against the license number along with the vehicle number. If caught physically then the e-Challan will be issued against the license number. This way the police can ensure that if a violation is repeated then the license number and driver can be banned permanently.

How to remove name from a sold-out vehicle?
If you receive e-Challan for any vehicle you have sold in the past then you will need to raise a complaint on the official website of TS e-Challan. This can be done by using the Complaint button and select the Sold-out option vehicle to register your case. Traffic police will track the incident and ensure to chase new owner to avoid getting e-Challan against your name.

Can issued e-Challan be reverted?

An image is uploaded with every e-Challan issued against a respective vehicle or license number. If there is any issue with the uploaded image then you can visit the nearest traffic police station and request them to verify the details and revert the challan.
